I strongly recommend you take a few minutes and read this article from the ABA (American Bankers Association) Banking Journal dated August 7, 2023. In it, the authors provide all levels of valuable information for those in commercial real estate. The “40 Year High” referenced below refers to the number of apartments currently under construction in the United States (943,000), a 40-year high and an increase from last year of 24.90%. The “40 Year Low” refers to the rental vacancy rate in the nation as a whole in Q1-2023. Surprisingly, the specific rate isn’t provided so I guess we’ll have to trust the bankers.
