Salt Lake City and Utah’s multifamily market is making headlines with over 18,000 units currently under construction. The Wasatch Front has seen close to 4,000 year-to-date unit deliveries. Occupancy rates have declined by about 1% – 2% at many properties. And the city is bracing for a massive influx of an astounding 50,000 units currently in the planning/permitting stages along the Wasatch Front. While many of those units won’t get built, this wave of development/deliveries is unprecedented and is part of the ‘new era’ of multifamily for Utah.
